“I am Fabio Lambiase, accountant of IMA Abrasivi, and I have been with the company since 2003.”
That of Fabio Lambiase, within IMA Abrasivi, was a coherent, organic, growing path. Like any enterprising young person eager to test himself, he entered the company's doors before even finishing university, combining study with work. His father, Gaetano Lambiase, and especially the grandfather, Joseph Lazzarini and, you know, when your parents are around, you can't afford to make any missteps. That's how it was for Fabio: as a son and grandson, his was a "training" rather than a path of formation!
Although his studies led him to an administrative position, sitting at a desk with his head behind a PC, Fabio was able to sit on that chair after 4 years of apprenticeship and training.
“First you learn how an abrasive disc is made, you understand what study is behind it and how much time it takes to make it and then you can sit down in your seat.” – because if you don’t know how it’s done, how can you understand the needs of those who produce, those who sell and those who use the product?”. These were the words, at the time, of my grandfather and my father. So the beginning wasn’t what I expected, but in the end I reaped the benefits of the experience gained in the field!”
He then started from production, where he was able to learn all the processes of product manufacturing in the best possible way, learning not only how an abrasive disc is made but also how much time it takes, how many steps and how many operational figures are needed to complete its processing. From the production department, he was "promoted" toSales officeHere, Fabio "cut his teeth" learning to manage orders and customers, until, after 4 years, he reached theaccounting office, where he was able to learn how to manage a company, from a financial perspective, and where he still occupies that famous chair.
“Here, in the company, I have met many people who have contributed to the formation of my professional figure. The most important without a doubt is my father Gaetano, who passed on to me all his "knowledge" and who always supported me in any choice I made. I definitely have to thank my grandfather Giuseppe Lazzarini, for his words, encouragement and presence. I cannot fail to mention a person who I can truly call my “mentor”, Dr. Mariano Sorrentino, which was fundamental for the role I hold today. Finally, my family who taught me, since I was little, that you can always learn from anyone and that's how it was for me in these 22 years old.”
Fabio Lambiase, in 22 years, has never stopped learning. For him the key word is “training”, understood not only as a learning activity but as a proactive attitude and development of the ability to listen. Because knowing how to listen is a difficult “profession”, it is an important managerial ability for those who hold a position of responsibility: a leader who knows how to listen, is listened to; a leader who knows how to listen is able to see new perspectives.
“I have never stopped learning: all the people I have met during my journey have contributed to increasing my professional baggage, and I am grateful for all the teachings that each one has passed on to me. But I don't feel I have arrived and I am firmly convinced that I will have much more to learn from those who are already here and from those who will be here in the future.”
Fabio Lambiase he is therefore the man of business economics, numbers and data, statistics and tax returns and today he is one of the 4 administrators of IMA Abrasivi. He is a professional who never stops learning and growing, a boy who grew up with sound principles and a sense of duty, a "romantic" person who, when asked "tell us an anecdote", answers like this:
“I have experienced many important moments in the company from 2003 to today, but the one I remember with the most emotion was when I first saw the place where the new factory would be built, where IMA Abrasivi is today that everyone knows.”
Finally, what are your professional goals?
“I have been part of the IMA Abrasivi team for 22 years. 22 years of corporate growth that have contributed to my experience, that have allowed me to build my future and offer my family and that give me the strength to firmly believe in the potential of all the people who make the company great every day. IMA Brand!!! My goal is to continue my growth with IMA and make it even more, a sustainable company and leader in the production of Abrasives.”
